Welcoming Baby Elaine: Newborn Photography in Northwest Indiana

Some sessions feel extra special, and Elaine’s newborn session was just that. Born just in time for Thanksgiving, this precious little one brought even more joy to her family during the holiday season. Her session was a perfect blend of cozy warmth and sweet, timeless poses—exactly what her mom loved most about my work.

Elaine’s mom shared in her questionnaire that my editing style and newborn posing were what drew her to me, and I couldn’t be more honored to capture these moments for her growing family. It’s always such a privilege to preserve these fleeting memories, especially when it’s for parents who cherish their journey as much as Elaine’s do.

When asked about her path to parenthood, Elaine’s mom Ashley described it beautifully: “Tiring, yet so rewarding. There’s something about watching the person you made grow and become their own person. It’s a beautiful thing.” As a mom of two, she knows firsthand the joys and challenges of parenting, even joking that caffeine is officially a necessity!

It’s clear how deeply motherhood has shaped Ashley's life and perspective. “Everything I do now is for my kids. I used to love going and doing things for myself. Now I love taking my kids places and watching the world from their point of view. It’s somehow even better than when it was for myself before them.” I couldn't agree more with her take on motherhood! I know, personally, I have found a new level of happiness in taking my son to do things together and watching him become his own person. Family time means the world to me these days!

For Elaine’s session, we focused on rich, natural tones with a feminine twist that emphasized her innocence and the love surrounding her. From her tiny hands and squishy rolls to the peaceful way she snuggled into each pose, Elaine was the perfect model. We even incorporated a little Christmas-inspired touch to celebrate her December due date—it was too sweet not to!

It’s families like this that remind me why I love what I do. Capturing those early days—so full of love, hope, and dreams for the future—is a privilege I don’t take lightly. Sweet Elaine, you are so loved, and I know your family will cherish these photos for years to come.
